Henry, a loyal reader, sent me photos of a prototype of the Power Mac G4 Cube, quite different internally from the final version. Among interesting details, it’s worth noting the presence of an internal speaker (absent in the final model), a standard 5.25-inch optical drive (as opposed to a slim one), and an overclocked processor running at 500 MHz, while the standard model operates at 400 MHz.
