Seen on eBay (again), a Power Mac 9700. This Mac model, intended to succeed the Power Mac 9600, either utilized a PowerPC G3 CPU or two PowerPC 604e CPUs and integrated six PCI expansion slots. The machine never made it to market, being replaced by the first Power Mac G3. I had previously discussed this model, whose release was canceled around the time of Steve Jobs’ return to Apple.
Henry Plain hopes to fetch $6,150 for his machine, equipped with an unidentified graphics card, a PowerPC G3 prototype (Goleta card), and a prototype DVD drive.
