Seen on eBay, a listing for a Macintosh 128K motherboard priced at $15,000. This model dates back to 1983 and (most notably) features a unique CPU.
The date 1983 is visible in the photos (which isn’t surprising, as the Macintosh was launched in early 1984), along with a red LED, but the highlight is a CPU marked SC87839L
. This marking is specific and appears on certain Macintosh prototypes. The chip is still a Motorola 68000, but it seems Apple ordered a batch of components with unique markings, perhaps to obscure that it was a 68000 or for other reasons. There’s an old discussion on this topic on AppleFritter.
