In a video from the YouTube channel Computer Clan (highly recommended), we recently saw an interesting iBook prototype.
The photo shared on Twitter highlights the intriguing part: it’s a Blueberry iBook (color of the first generation) with FireWire (a feature introduced in the second generation).
It comes with 64 MB of integrated RAM (like the second generation) and a PowerPC G3 at 466 MHz (like the second generation), but in some cases, it is recognized at 600 MHz. The OS included was a beta version, which likely explains some of the issues. Essentially, it’s a second-generation iBook G3 inside a first-generation casing. This model is EVT, which is rarer than the PVT version (I have a motherboard).
