A somewhat hybrid Performa 6360 prototype

In a thread on the 68KMLA forums, there is a prototype of the Performa 6360, with a long and interesting discussion for those who enjoy old and unusual machines.

The Performa 6360 (or Power Mac 6300) and the 6400 are quite similar: they share the same Alchemy platform, with the main difference being the form factor (desktop for the former, tower for the latter). The machine shown here has a faster-than-standard CPU (240 MHz), a heatsink from the Power Mac 6400, and runs Mac OS 7.7 (which later became Mac OS 8). One notable detail is that the (black) heatsink is quite thick, which seems to block the PCI connector. On regular Power Mac 6300 models, the heatsink is much shorter to accommodate the PCI bracket.
