Two iPod touch (1st gen) prototypes on video

Seen on YouTube (by Apple Demo on Twitter), two iPod touch prototypes appear in a video.

The video shows that these are PVT models (quite close to the final version) but with some differences compared to retail units. First, there are no markings on the back. Then, both iPod touch devices boot into SwitchBoard, the testing OS, running a version derived from iOS 1 (even though iOS wasn’t yet named that way). They start with diagnostic apps to check the hardware, but they fail—the battery is dead in both cases. I encourage you to watch the video to see various interactions with the devices.
