With the 9th-generation iPad (released in September 2021 but still sold as an entry-level model), Apple made a choice: the screen bezel was only available in black, with a space gray or silver back. The white bezel, present since the iPad 2, disappeared. But if you visit the FCC website, surprise: the tablet is white.

The iPad user guide also shows an iPad with a white border, but I don’t know if it’s really a mistake, in the sense that previous-generation models are sometimes white. And on iBooks, it seems impossible to go back to the first version dedicated to iOS 15 (the 15.5 version is currently online).
