A DVT prototype of the PowerBook G3 Pismo

Seen on eBay, a prototype PowerBook G3 Pismo. It was first listed for $2,000 before being put up for auction (it was a little over $250 at the time of writing, with shipping fees for France). It eventually sold for $545.

This is a DVT model with a 500 MHz CPU, a DVT optical drive, and it comes with a non-original charger. Aside from the usual stickers indicating its prototype status, one noticeable difference is the trackpad button, which is different from the commercial version. It has a bronze color similar to the keyboard, slightly transparent. The machine’s codename (P8) is also visible.
