A prototype of an Ethernet dock for the Pippin @World

Seen on eBay, a prototype of the EtherDock, an Ethernet dock for the American Pippin @World.

The console itself is not particularly interesting—it’s a standard Pippin @World. It’s not common, but it can still be found from time to time.

The EtherDock, however, is rare. It was built using a floppy drive case for the console (it even has the original labeling), but it also features an EtherDock marking and, of course, an RJ45 port on the back. I assume that internally, it contains a 10 Mb/s PCI Ethernet card compatible with older Apple OS versions. The console sold for $1,000.
