A European prototype of the 90s Apple Set Top Box

Seen on eBay, a prototype of the 90s Apple TV. And there’s a video showing how it works!

The 90s Apple TV is what we would call a Set Top Box. Apple planned to offer it to operators for video streaming in the mid-90s, but it never really made it to market.

The first notable feature of this prototype is that the covers on the Peritel ports are missing. On all the other prototypes I’ve seen, these ports are covered. Next, the network connection ports are the European versions, not the Type F ports seen on the American version. But most importantly, what’s rare is that we have images of the interface and even a video.
