Spotted: a prototype of a Power Mac 9700

I had already mentioned this, and Henry Plain has acquired one: the Power Mac 9700. It’s a high-end tower that was never released but appears to have been produced in significant numbers before a rather abrupt halt.

J’en avais déjà parlé, et Henry Plain en a récupéré un : le Power Mac 9700. C’est une tour haut de gamme jamais sortie, mais visiblement produite en grand nombre, l’arrêt aurait été assez brutal.

Un prototype de PowerExpress, alias Power Mac 9700

Connaissez-vous le PowerExpress, alias Power Macintosh 9700 ? Cette machine devait être la versions « haut de gamme » du Power Mac G3, avec notamment six emplacements PCI, alors que les Power Mac G3 n’en ont que trois.

Do you know about the PowerExpress, also known as the Power Macintosh 9700? This machine was intended to be the ‘high-end’ version of the Power Mac G3, notably featuring six PCI slots, whereas the Power Mac G3 had only three.
